Barnabas Ministry

The Barnabas Ministry is a ministry of encouragement, a method of connecting those who are no longer able to attend Northeast, either as shut-ins or temporarily because of illness. If you have desire to care for people in these situation please let us know.

Better Marriage Couples

Join our team of trained mentor couples willing to meet with pre-married and married couples to discuss issues and help them learn tools to self-coach their way to a Better Marriage. Training is offered once a year for the mentor couples.

Celebrate Recovery 

Celebrate Recovery is a ministry to help people overcome their hurts, habits and hang-ups. It is for anyone who has ever been hurt or hurt someone else. The purpose is to help people grow in their relationship with Christ and get Jesus at the core of their being. If you have a background in addiction recovery we would love to hear your story. 

Disciple Makers

We are a church that desires to produce disciples, who make discples. We are willing to help you get started in this process by sharing resources and information on best practices. If you want to become a disicple maker, please contact us.

English as a Second Language

Northeast offers free English classes for adult English learners three times per year, and each session is open year-round, so people can join at any time. We are able to train anyone to teach ESL and would welcome any gifts to help assist this community outreach.

Emergency Response Team 

We help people who are going through natural disasters, emergency crisis situations, or catastrophic loss. Northeast is a pre-approved Lighthouse Church with Samaritan’s Purse, a nationwide disaster relief ministry. If a tragedy hit Winnebago County, we are ready to open our doors and welcome workers here. If you have a desire to be the hands of Jesus for those going through extreme loss, please connect with us.

Funeral Dinner Support 

When a family is going through the loss of a loved one, we are able to offer meals for famlies after the funeral. We are in need of people willing to make side-dishes, and people available to help serve at the dinners If you can help in either way, please let us know.

GriefShare, DivorceCare, and CancerSupport teams 

These groups walk alongside people through a difficult season of life. If you have experienced the pain of these issues, we would love to chat with you about how you can encourage people in these ministries.

Hospital Visitation Team

Our team visits people who are in the hospital to encourage them and give them the hope of God’s Word. Our team is glad to meet people before a procedure to pray with them or in an emergency situation as well. If you have a heart for serving in this capacity please connect with us to set-up a time for training.

International Ministry Team

We welcome people from other countries and help support their transition to America. Our team has a passion for those who have been called away from their homelands to live as sojourners in a new place. They are intimately involved in helping the Internationals understand our culture and how our society functions, this is key to their success. If you love people from other cultures and want to assist them in acclimating to America, we want to connect with you.

Meal Train

Do you enjoy cooking and want to use this skill to encourage those in the body of Christ going through a difficult recovery? Please consider being part of making and taking meals to those in need of food through difficult seasons. We need people willing to take a meal to anyone and people to coordinate the meals. 

Prayer Support

We want to encourage and support prayer within the body here at Northeast. We want people to develop an intimate relationship with God and each other. At Northeast, we desire to enlist, educate, equip and encourage our body here to devote themselves to prayer, knowing it is powerful and effective. If you have a desire to pray for people as they have need or you desire to educate them in the discipline of prayer, we would love to connect with you.
